The role is a full time, permanent position based in Chatham working Mon to Fri, 8am to 4pm. Each day the company works with businesses that are impacting the lives of millions of people in the UK. As Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for a team of 6 and demonstrate highly people-oriented leadership skills, where you can influence change whilst instilling a continuous improvement mindset to increase effectiveness, efficiency and add value. An engaging and collaborative approach to leadership will continue to ensure a strong focus on teamwork, in which people feel valued and that they really are part of the overall success of the business.
You will ensure compliance with regulations for fire and alarm systems, PAT, pressure valves and analyse the results to ensure corrective actions are implemented. In addition, you will ensure risk assessments / COSHH / RIDDOR etc. are in place and accident prevention measures are initiated as required as well as adhering to PPM schedules. You will have working knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485, LSAS and MDD93/42/EEC.
You will be a time served apprentice with experience of mechanical / electrical / steam operations and hold HNC level engineering qualification or equivalent. To be successful, it is important that you have an enquiring mind, are detail oriented, hold exacting standards when it comes to quality and health and safety, with a real desire to progress your career. You will be a naturally energetic, motivational leader, very resilient and passionate about delivering results. Exceptional communication skills and an ability to lead by example will be essential. Experience of Lean (Six Sigma), 5S and the implementation of manufacturing systems would be an advantage.
