We’re looking for a confident and capable Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing team within a top-tier COMAH chemical plant. This is a varied and impactful role involving everything from project management and design work to maintenance support and process safety.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Projects & Design
  • Plan and deliver mechanical-biased projects – from concept through to completion
  • Carry out detailed engineering design work and review technical drawings/specs
  • Ensure project delivery is on time, within budget, and meets site standards
  • Implement smart, innovative engineering solutions to boost plant performance
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting
    • Take ownership of escalated maintenance issues – identify root causes and fix problems quickly
    • Feed into shutdown planning and ongoing maintenance strategies
    • Maintain accurate records of activities and equipment performance
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Actively participate in HAZOPs and safety audits
    • Manage compliance with regulations including PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, and PED
    • Ensure all work meets health, safety, and environmental standards
    • Work closely with internal teams and external contractors to support site operations
    • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues across the plant

    What You’ll Bring:

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
    • Strong background in engineering and maintenance on a COMAH-regulated site
    • Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and associated safety requirements
    • Hands-on experience with compliance regimes and inspection programmes
    • Confident communicator with good problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
