We’re looking for a confident and capable Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing team within a top-tier COMAH chemical plant. This is a varied and impactful role involving everything from project management and design work to maintenance support and process safety.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Projects & Design
- Plan and deliver mechanical-biased projects – from concept through to completion
- Carry out detailed engineering design work and review technical drawings/specs
- Ensure project delivery is on time, within budget, and meets site standards
- Implement smart, innovative engineering solutions to boost plant performance
- Take ownership of escalated maintenance issues – identify root causes and fix problems quickly
- Feed into shutdown planning and ongoing maintenance strategies
- Maintain accurate records of activities and equipment performance
- Actively participate in HAZOPs and safety audits
- Manage compliance with regulations including PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, and PED
- Ensure all work meets health, safety, and environmental standards
- Work closely with internal teams and external contractors to support site operations
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues across the plant
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Strong background in engineering and maintenance on a COMAH-regulated site
- Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and associated safety requirements
