Job Description

CLASS 1 DRIVER – AFTERNOON

Shift: MONDAY – FRIDAY – START TIME BETWEEN – 13:00 – 22:00

Pay Rate: £17.28 – £21.60 PER HOUR

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in the Derby area. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

Rates of Pay:

  • Days: £17.28 per hour
  • Overtime (paid after 9.5 hours): £21.60 per hour

Day to Day Duties:

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

  • Trunking depot-depot (2-3) no handball (working on curtain-side delivering alcohol products)
  • Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management

Essential Skills:

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles
  • Previous experience in multi drop experience

Training:

  • Driver's Assessment will have to be completed
  • After successful Assessment, there will be a one day paid induction
  • Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
