Sheldon Phillips is seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker to join the Children & Families Team in North Devon on a locum basis. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility and an accommodation allowance for those living 50 miles or more from the work base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional leadership and supervision within the team, supporting the Team Manager with daily operations.
- Carry a reduced caseload, focusing on children and families with complex needs and undertaking in-depth assessments.
- Champion high standards of professional practice by coaching, mentoring, and providing on-the-job training to colleagues and students.
- Promote reflective practice and continuous learning to drive service improvement.
- Work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment to deliver effective, child-focused outcomes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualifying experience, ideally at senior social worker or advanced social worker level.
- Proven ability to work with complex family cases and deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions.
- Demonstrable experience in mentoring, coaching, and training other professionals.
- Commitment to service improvement and ability to challenge practice constructively.
- Enhanced DBS check and full right to work in the UK.
