Our client is one of the leading British logistics providers headquartered at a purpose built facility in Birmingham. Well established, operating worldwide multi modal freight services, with a balanced portfolio of inbound and outbound blue-chip clients with an emphasis on technological solutions.
We are now looking for a Freight Forwarding Automotive Shipping Clerk based in the Birmingham Business Park.
Using internal systems to create documentation that will enable freight to be moved to customer specifications, on time with all the necessary customs and legal documentation, including:
- Creating and updating freight bookings.
- Raising customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country.
- Collating all documents and distributing them to customers and carriers, as required.
- Preparing, processing and checking of invoices.
- Arranging haulage with shipping lines/hauliers.
- Negotiating and agreeing charges for all types of shipments, which may include containers (FCL/LCL & out of gauge), refrigerated units, ISO tanks and hazardous cargo.
- Communicating with overseas agents and clients clearly, precisely and accurately.
In order to apply you will have an exports background and ideally have handled automotive exports. You will have handled FCL/LCL shipments and have completed all documentation. You will have the ability to liaise with a global network of agents, suppliers, shipping lines, and hauliers.
