Warehouse and Production Assistant

Full-time, 39 hours per week

£13.50 per hour

28 days holiday and contributory pension

Location Wolverhampton, WV2

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Warehouse and Production Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role working across both our Despatch Warehouse and Production departments. The successful candidate will support the smooth flow of goods through the business from goods-in inspection to final despatch as well as assist in routine production duties.

This role is ideal for someone with previous stores or warehouse experience and a flexible, can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities

Despatch Warehouse

• Book stock in and out using our computer system
• Perform random quality spot checks on stock
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
• Pick and prepare customer orders from pick lists
• Load and unload deliveries (up to 25kg)
• Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate records
• Replenish inventory via our Kanban system
• Provide cover for the component stores area
• Inspect goods upon receipt for quality and accuracy

Production

• Set up machinery and equipment daily
• Carry out basic and preventative maintenance
• Support the smooth running of daily production tasks

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Physically fit and able to handle items up to 25kg
• Previous experience in a warehouse, despatch, or stores role
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Desirable

• Experience using an MRP or stock management system
• Understanding of lean processes such as Kanban
• Experience in a production or light manufacturing environment
