About the Role:

• Deliver engaging and well-structured English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
• Teach a range of topics including poetry, prose, drama, creative writing, and analytical skills
• Encourage students to develop their written and verbal communication through discussion and structured learning
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
• Contribute to the wider school community through assemblies, reading programmes, and enrichment activities (e.g. book clubs, writing competitions)

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent UK teaching qualification (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Have experience teaching English at secondary level (A-Level experience is a plus)
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a creative, engaging approach to teaching and learning
• Inspire students to develop a passion for literature and effective communication
• Possess excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
• Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional development
