Risk Manager, Market and Financial Risk – Crypto / Digital Asset Management **This role comes with equity on a 4 year vesting period and 1 year cliff and will be part of an organisation that has doubled in size 2 years in a row** About: Our client is at the vanguard of the cryptocurrency sector as a leading Digital Asset Manager. The Opportunity: We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Risk leader with expertise in Market and Financial Risk Management to be the spearhead in managing and reporting enterprise-wide risks, conducting third-party due diligence reviews and supporting GRC operations. This is a pivotal role for a rapidly scaling and dynamic organisation where you will be critical in fortifying risk management capabilities and ensuring compliance with new and existing regulatory bodies. Core areas will include: Capital Markets Crypto Trading OTC Market Making Digital Asset offering Key Responsibilities for the Risk Manager, Market and Financial Risk – Crypto / Digital Asset Management: Risk Management Conduct risk assessments and create risk profiles for various processes, systems, and projects. Oversee the third-party due diligence process and actively engage in the assessment activities. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and suggest improvements as needed. Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with regulatory compliance and information security. Regulatory Compliance Directly support license application with FCA and MiCA Assist in preparing for and responding to regulatory audits and reviews. Stay updated on relevant regulatory requirements and ensure that the company’s risk management practices comply with applicable laws and regulations. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and information security teams to address regulatory changes and their impact on the organization. Information Security Support Assist in the implementation and monitoring of security controls and procedures to protect sensitive information. Support the development and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and procedures. Work with the Information Security team and CISO to assess and manage risks related to information security, including data breaches, cyber threats, and system vulnerabilities. Reporting and Documentation Prepare risk assessment reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors. Document risk management processes, findings, and recommendations. Maintain comprehensive records of risk management activities and compliance efforts. Experience required: Expertise in market and financial risk management, ideally within capital markets with knowledge of the Crypto / Digital Asset sector. Strong understanding of information security governance, risk assessments and industry recognised frameworks including NIST and ISO27001. Proven knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FCA, AMF, BMA, MICA, DORA, GDPR and security governance. Ability to engage across all layers of a business both domestically and internationally. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work independently, manage priorities and apply project management methodology.
