Job Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Southampton

Prospero Teaching is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic HLTA to join a fantastic school in Southampton. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support learning activities, lead small group sessions, and contribute to the overall development of students.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead small group interventions and support individual students.
2. Assist in the assessment and tracking of student progress.
3. Provide cover for teachers during short-term absences.
4. Support the development of students\’ social and emotional skills.
5. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience as a HLTA or in a similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Passion for education and supporting student development.
• Location: Southampton

Position Details:

• Position: HLTA
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Type: Permanent
• Full-time: Yes
• Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (hours may vary)

Qualifications & Requirements:

• HLTA status – Essential
• Experience as a HLTA – Desirable

Eligibility:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply
• References upon request
• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training or willingness to undertake
