Opticore IT is a specialist Networks & Platforms Engineering and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
Opticore IT are currently searching for a Platform Engineer to join our Broadcast Media client to design, build and optimise their custom tooling to roll out a new suite of services. You will join our excelling team based in the London area, on a 6-month contract inside IR35, with scope to extend. This is a hybrid position that requires travel to our clients' site in the West London area, 1 day a week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborate closely with developers to design, build, and optimise custom tooling tailored to our internal platform to roll out, test and optimise a new suite of services built from open-source components.
- Plan and phase work in alignment with team goals and broader engineering timelines.
- Participate in regular support and planning meetings, providing technical guidance and ensuring progress aligns with platform standards.
- Mentor and upskill team members in effectively using the custom tooling, development workflows and new services.
- Ensure secure design and implementation practices when working with systems handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Liaise with permanent members of staff to ensure that services follow (or extend) existing guardrails and patterns.
What you’ll bring:
- A history of delivering projects in Platform Engineering, ideally using AWS.
- Proven expertise with Terraform.
- Creation of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in an Agile practice.
