Our client is a much-loved high street retail brand with a first-class legacy in delivering fantastic service in the community. The business is entering a significant period of change, whereby they are seeking several new additions to the team to help support and lead change, by empowering and coaching teams to better performance.
What qualities will you need to be successful?
- The successful candidate will be an experienced strategic leader with a proven ability to inspire, develop and drive high-performing teams.
- Skilled in formulating strategies and operational plans aligned with our client’s customer, commercial and organisational goals.
- A proven track record in buying, category management with food, or central operations experience with major retailers are preferred for this exciting opportunity to lead and develop as our client evolves.
- You will be a strong relationship-builder with senior stakeholders, leveraging exceptional communication and influencing skills, driving and championing our client’s values and positive behaviours.
- Driving sales, profit, waste, market share and availability for your respective categories, you will also demonstrate understanding of the category roles and the importance of aligning to the customer offer.
- With strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to deliver on a strategy and against target, you will lead and support your team and deputise for the Chief Commercial Officer, to ensure delivery to agreed goals and objectives.
- Key responsibilities for this exciting opportunity are Commercial Performance, Supplier Management, a collaborative approach to Promotions and Merchandising to work closely with Marketing and Operations teams alike. But you will set yourself apart with first class leadership and development ambitions and aspirations.
- Self-motivated, with an enthusiastic approach to work and a willingness to keep developing yourself professionally/academically.
- Belief that equality and inclusion to improve the working environment.
- You will be Head office based in Ipswich and will be required to balance your time across both Head Office and Retail shops where required.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food retail, category management and or buying.
- Experience in omnichannel or e-commerce commercial management would also be preferred but is not essential.
