We are working with a top-performing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to find a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their high-achieving Building Services team. With locations in Cardiff and Swansea, the team is recognised as one of the most successful and profitable within the business, thanks to a strong delivery framework and long-term client relationships.
About the Team
Led by a highly experienced manager who joined from a well-known consultancy, this 10-person team thrives on collaboration, technical excellence, and a client-first mindset. The group includes a blend of senior hires, graduates, and agency recruits with backgrounds from top-tier consultancies. They closely partner with in-house civil, structural, architectural, and sustainability experts, as well as an active QS/PM team.

You will work on a range of challenging and rewarding projects, including:

The Role
We are looking for a client-facing, technically strong Senior Electrical Engineer who can take the lead on projects. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on design delivery and thrives in a collaborative, digitally enabled environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and design electrical systems (power, lighting, life safety, comms, access control, etc.)
- Use industry software (Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, Revit) for detailed calculations and modelling
- Support and guide junior engineers
- Attend and contribute to client and contractor meetings
- Conduct site visits and inspections
- Collaborate with national and international delivery teams
What You Will Need
- Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- Chartered or working toward CEng (IET/CIBSE)
- Strong grasp of digital tools and design software
- Knowledge of energy reduction, decarbonisation and passive design principles
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Experience in consultancy or design-led contractor roles
- Bonus: familiarity with coding or scripting tools
