Head of Procurement

GSC Executives are delighted to be working with an award-winning Tier 1 contractor, in the search for a strategic and commercially minded Head of Procurement (Construction). The ideal candidate will be confident in defining and delivering long-term procurement and supply chain strategies, within a large organisation. This is a key leadership role where you’ll drive efficiencies, performance, innovation, and lead a high performing team.

Responsibilities:

• Building and managing key relationships with internal business leaders and external suppliers.
• Delivering procurement strategies that support operational success and business growth.
• Driving improvements in supply chain processes, tools, and systems to unlock savings and efficiency.
• Ensuring suppliers and/or subcontractors have the relevant health and safety accreditation and sustainability and carbon reduction policies that align.
• Developing and leading a business-wide procurement and supply chain strategy aligned with business and Group objectives.
• Overseeing performance management and compliance, including reporting, KPIs, and supplier assurance.
• Collaborating across departments.
• Establishing alternative sourcing strategies where needed.

Knowledge & Qualifications

• Extensive experience in procurement, commercial strategy, and supply chain operations.
• Experience with framework agreements, operational controls, and financial oversight.
• Degree-educated (or equivalent experience); MCIPS
• Success in leading procurement at a senior level within a large organisation.
• Strong track record in cost management, supplier development, and strategic sourcing.
• Confident communicator and negotiator.
