What the Job Involves Conducting general highway maintenance tasks such as potholing, drainage, fencing, and grass cutting. Operating small machinery and tools necessary for the job. Ensuring compliance with safety standards per H&S legislation and Council policy. Completing work records and safety assessments electronically when required. Participating in winter maintenance duties and standby rotas. Occasionally supervising other operatives’ work. Reporting any unsafe work practices or equipment to a supervisor. Assisting the Monmouthshire highways operations team in meeting MCC Service Improvement Plan standards. Maintaining courteous interactions with the public and upholding service delivery standards. Contributing to creating a Smoke-Free workplace.
