Looking for an expert in channels including organic social, website and app content, CRM and in-store. This role will include working in both London and Manchester (likely to be one day a week in Manchester).
We are looking for a Owned Channel Content Strategist who is on the pulse, proactive, has a creative flair, stays on top of updates and trends, understands the wider marketing mix, but who is also into the numbers.
The candidate will have a firm grasp of (but healthy skepticism towards) traditional planning processes and βthe done way of doing things.β They will identify with VCCPβs Challenger positioning and recognise it in the way they approach their own work.
They will be dynamic in their approach to planning, recognising the modern, fragmented media landscape and how communication needs to work on owned content channels, and how brands can show up in non-traditional ways. They will be passionate about populating culture, identifying proactive and inspiring ways to make brands relevant.
They will have successful experience on medium to large sized business or pitches with oversight from their planning leads with at least 8 years experience. They will be confident briefing maestros who have no problem taking large, complex briefs and pitches from inception right through to delivery.
The right candidate will have the confidence and heft to collaborate with and challenge agency specialist partners, media partners and senior stakeholders both internally and on the client-side, with a very high level of emotional intelligence and a natural ability to think on their feet.
Perhaps most importantly of all: they will have an unpretentious approach to advertising. This is not a position for those who put the proposition on a velvet cushion and baulk at the thought of mucking in with creatives and account management to get to the best and most powerful work and always to a high standard.
You will be:
- Commercially-minded: Understands effectiveness Measures
- Culturally Insightful
- Modern Media fluent: modern approaches to paid, owned and earned
- Social, web, app, CRM channels expert
- Confident Presenter: willingness to pitch
- Creative and Content Manager ally
- High energy and heft: strong communication is key to this role
- Unpretentious and collaborative: in getting to powerful work
Some core skills and competencies:
- Strategic Content Planning: Developing comprehensive content calendars and roadmaps aligned with the client's marketing goals and the Hero, Hub, Hygiene content model.
- Hub Content Development: Planning engaging and informative recurring content that caters to core audience interests, fosters community, and provides ongoing value.
- Hygiene Content Optimisation: Mapping out and refining always-on content formats (e.g., FAQs, product descriptions, social media snippets) to address immediate audience needs and improve search visibility.
- Content Integration: Strategically incorporating the clients messaging and calls-to-action within the content ecosystem to drive member engagement and participation across web, app and social.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with creative teams (copywriters, designers, videographers), web content managers, social media managers, SEO specialists, and account managers to ensure seamless content production and distribution.
- Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Tracking content performance metrics, identifying key insights, and recommending data-driven adjustments to optimise future content plans.
- Client Communication: Presenting content plans, progress updates, and performance reports to the client in a clear and compelling manner.
- Staying Ahead of Trends: Keeping abreast of the latest content marketing trends, platform updates, and best practices to ensure our strategies remain innovative and effective.
