ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Director of Retailers & Brands for Shoptalk, you will be responsible for building, nurturing and securing a network of retailer and brand attendees for the entire Shoptalk portfolio. You will be a champion for enduring client relationships as this will involve expanding current accounts, both locally and globally, as well as researching and seeking new retail and consumer brand partnerships. Your focus will be on attendee acquisition and retention at both an individual and organization level, with an enthusiastic and creative approach to relationship building. This will also extend to paid for delegate ticket sales and may also support the rollout of additional Shoptalk and Groceryshop products, which may require international travel.

We are seeking a target-driven leader with a proven track record of consistently exceeding goals across multiple products. The ideal candidate is agile and able to manage multiple events simultaneously. Strong communication and presentation skills—both virtual and in-person—are essential. This role requires creativity and initiative in outreach efforts to build strategic relationships with key attendees and partners.

WHAT YOU\’LL BE DOING:

  • Manage and grow key retail and brand accounts, building relationships and driving attendee acquisition and revenue through meetings, outreach, and presentations.
  • Identify and engage senior and C-suite executives to understand their priorities and connect them with the Shoptalk ecosystem.
  • Lead outreach efforts through cold calling, marketing follow-up, LinkedIn, HubSpot, and email campaigns to grow the business pipeline.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, content, events, and sales to maximize engagement and meet organizational goals.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, track registrations, and develop contingency plans to meet individual and team KPIs.
  • Represent Shoptalk at industry events and on social media, acting as a brand advocate and staying current with retail trends.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while building and nurturing a strong, engaged community of Shoptalk advocates.

WHO YOU ARE:

To be successful in this role, you must have/be:

  • 7+ years of experience in performance-based sales or business development, ideally in events, retail, or SaaS.
  • Proven track record of exceeding targets and leading high-growth, high-volume account management or new business sales.
  • Strong communicator and confident presenter, comfortable engaging with C-suite stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong data analysis and Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
  • Proficient in sales and marketing tools including HubSpot, ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator, Apollo, and Meet Alfred.
  • Passionate about retail trends and community building within the industry.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
