An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Team of a growing bank in the heart of Manchester city centre. The role is available due to the growth of the business, and it is offering up to £27,000pa.
What you will be doing:
- Managing the accounts' payable function, including booking supplier invoices, supplier payments, credit control, supplier queries.
- Preparing bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations for multiple reporting entities.
- P/L account analysis for month-end reporting for different entities.
- Reconciliation of lending and deposit portfolios for month-end reporting.
- Engaging with the Operations Team to resolve reconciliation issues.
- Supporting the interim and year-end audit process, including compiling audit evidence and resolving audit queries.
- Assisting with cost centre and project spend reporting.
- Reconciling and managing intercompany balances between subsidiaries of the Group.
- Managing cash transfer process between company bank accounts.
- Daily treasury and regulatory reporting.
- Assisting in ad hoc projects with the Finance Team and wider business to drive process improvements.
About you:
- 2+ years as an Accounts Assistant, Credit Controller, or similar role.
- Preferably AAT qualified but not essential.
- Strong planning, administration, and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive nature with problem-solving attitude.
- Teamwork mentality with a willingness to assist other colleagues with tasks.
- Confident speaking with colleagues and external counterparties (suppliers, banking providers, 3rd party system support).
- Experience in Financial Services firm - desirable but not required.
- Experience using an Employee Expense Management system - desirable but not required.
