Title: Site Chemist Location: Hertfordshire Salary: £27,000 Term: Permanent SRG are working with a leading waste management and recycling company who have a long and very successful history of supporting the UK chemical industry. They are now looking for a site chemist to join the team. This is a hands-on role within the waste industry, you will be checking and testing incoming loads, processing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, insuring segregation and storage of hazardous waste meets requirements, labelling waste and completing documents on all incoming and outgoing chemical materials. This role would suit candidates with prior industrial experience within the waste industry. Working Hours: 37.5 working hours per week, Monday to Friday, 24 days holiday + statutory bank holidays. Role / Description Provide technical support to the operations team Analyse, test and sample all incoming waste Ensure all waste is correctly labelled and documented Contribute to site health and safety standards by using the correct PPE at all times Work closely with site operatives to ensure the safe and efficient processing, storage, and transfer of waste Lab testing on waste materials using titration, PH and flashpoint Requirements Minimum HNC in Chemistry and strong chemicals knowledge Prior experience in a waste environment Willing to work outside in all weathers Good work ethic, hands-on approach and a willingness to learn Full right to work in the UK – There is no sponsorship available for this role SRG is the UK's number one recruitment company specialising in the scientific, engineering, clinical, pharmaceutical, food/FMCG, energy & renewables, biotech, chemical and medical device sectors.
