School Caretaker (Multi-Site) Permanent Opportunity via BRC Jobs: Caretaker Location: South Hams, Devon Sector: Property and Housing Job Type: Permanent Salary: £20,444 – £22,571 We are looking for a passionate individual to act as sole caretaker at a school. Undertaking general maintenance tasks and inspections of the school, reporting any findings, issues or health & safety concerns. Main Responsibilities: In this role you will be responsible for the locking and unlocking of the school, security of the premises and general day to day maintenance Carry out general maintenance tasks as required, managing any reactive repairs or reporting of any issues that would need to be carried out by an external company You will be responsible for general handyman duties, including repairing of leaky taps, testing fire alarms and general decorating Inspect the school for damages or vandalism, managing any defects, reporting to the premises manager or head teacher Manage emergency cleaning including unblocking of drains, toilets and clearing up broken glass Ensure compliance with the environmental protection act by clearing up litter inside and outside of the building General portering including moving tables and desks when required In the case of serious damage or break-ins, liaise with premises manager/headteacher – in their absence the police or fire brigade Job Requirements A full UK Driving Licence Working knowledge of COSH Previous experience in a similar role Able to demonstrate good practical knowledge and experience in trade works DBS required For more information on this role call Branwen on (phone number removed) or send a copy of your CV
