Assistant Accountant

About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support our finance team in managing key cost centres and delivering accurate and timely financial information. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in finance, with full study support provided towards a recognised qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end responsibilities
Compile month-end packs
Support with cost centres, including budgets, forecasts, and monthly cost centre reviews
Help produce the GRNI report
Prepare the monthly statistics reporting
Maintain Capex reporting
Collate data for the quarterly VAT return: check invoices, investigate anomalies, and prepare for review by the Financial Accountant
Perform VAT checks on employee expenses and corporate credit cards
Validate master data and perform annual VAT checks
Support annual Fixed Asset verificationAbout You:
Some previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Willingness to learn and develop – full study support will be provided.
Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial systems.
