We are seeking a Buyer to join our team in Doncaster.
Role: Buyer
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm
Contract type: 12 Month - Fixed Term Contract
Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (plus 8 bank holidays)
Responsibilities include:
- Guide the buying activities to ensure sourcing and QCD benefits are maximised and that day-to-day activities are executed and aligned with the defined strategies and procedures.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve purchasing efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing activities with business needs and objectives.
- Support with supplier quality and delivery improvement activities.
- Provide customer-focused support in the areas of purchasing materials and services.
- Ensure materials and services are delivered to meet the asset plan and budgets.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
Requirements:
- Previous buying, purchasing, or procurement experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Good level of IT skills (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Oracle (preferred), PowerPoint).
- Legal authorisation to work in the UK is required.
