Mid Market Underwriter

Trading Underwriter – Salary is competitive depending on experience Location – Bristol We are currently looking for an experienced Trading Underwriter to join the Aviva business. As a Trading Underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing brokers, underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs. This role is for someone who comes from a broking or underwriting background and is passionate about developing in their career. You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business. Partnering with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure we provide whole customer solutions which support these. This role does require you to go out on broker visits across the South West, so there is a need to be flexible with travel. A bit about the job: To be a multiclass underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business Great communicator who regularly has meaningful face to face meetings with brokers and/or customers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva their insurer of choice Deal end to end with brokers/customers book of business Embrace and understand Aviva\’s regional SME & Mid Market trading strategy Be curious to grow understanding of the commercial business Aviva has a clear commitment to invest in all employees and our training programmes allow you to enhance your knowledge and technical skills. Skills and experience we’re looking for: Previous property & liability and/or fleet underwriting experience is essential The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases What you’ll get for this role: Salary is Competitive depending on skills, experience and qualifications Bonus opportunity – Competitive % of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
