Location: Cambridge (CB25) Duration: Permanent Hours: 8am until 5pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 Job Reference: 35511 Polytec are looking for a Head of Purchasing to manage procurement activities for our client based just north of Cambridge. Travel will be required for this role so you will need to have a full, clean driving licence and own transport. Responsibilities: * Define supply chain strategy * Identify, select and approve new suppliers * Negotiate / establish contractual agreements * Cost reduction targets * Stock ordering / lean inventory management / forecasting * Ensure materials are delivered in time to support customer demand * Escalation path for purchasing / supplier issues * Continuous improvement activities * Cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives * New product introduction Requirements: * Degree in a relevant field * MCIPS * Extensive supply chain experience within electronics, telecommunications or consumer goods * Management of complex global supplier / customer relationships * Team management experience. * Excellent IT skills, competent using Microsoft Excel and Dynamics AX * Experience of offshore contract manufacturing management * Ability to influence at senior level Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
