About the Role
We’re looking for a talented and driven Test Team Lead to join our Cardiff-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a strategic leadership role, where you’ll shape the future of our QA function and lead a team of testers working on cutting-edge mobile and embedded technologies.
As Test Team Lead, you’ll combine hands-on testing knowledge with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing QA team. You’ll play a key role in test planning, automation strategy, and cross-functional collaboration across product and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of test engineers, driving best practices and continuous improvement.
- Own and evolve the test strategy across projects, ensuring high coverage and quality.
- Define and manage test plans, timelines, and resource allocation across projects.
- Champion a shift-left approach and work closely with developers, product managers, and UX designers.
- Oversee and contribute to the development of automated and manual test cases.
- Ensure high-quality releases for mobile applications and device-level systems.
- Report on QA metrics, release readiness, and risks to stakeholders.
Technical Requirements
- Hands-on experience testing mobile apps and/or embedded/device-based software.
- Strong scripting/coding experience in one or more of the following: C, C#, C++, JavaScript, Python.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and lifecycle.
- ISTQB certification (preferred).
