Job Overview In the role of General Manager, you will lead the operational and performance growth for the organisation across the UK. A hands-on Manager, the client will be at the centre of everything you do, and you will contribute to the growth andsuccess of the business through your skills and experience. Duties and Responsibilities Hands on execution Using weekly / monthly KPI’s to ensure that the business is performing in line with business expectations Commercially astute to interface with clients and understand the local market and training requirements Proven track record of delivering sales and profit growth Operational experience to understand and deliver cost of sales savings, through efficiency, trainer utilisation and cost control Proven experience of reducing non value-added activities through collective process mapping and project leading improvement activities Structured plans to reduce administrative costs within the business Build long term, trusting relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities Understanding of course fill and full rates to drive profitability within the business unit Manage the introduction of new products to expand offering Account management for key accounts within region Using past course trends and future forecasting to ensure appropriate resource levels and course availability to ensure maximise revenue streams Direct P&L responsibilities for the company’s financial performance and capital investments Think clearly under pressure and act in a sociably responsible way The job holder is expected to be flexible and undertake additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities of the job, and that are within their competence, when required. Person Specification You will be a hands-on, highly motivated, driven individual with a commitment to getting things done. The client will be at the centre of everything you do, and you will contribute to the growth and success of the business through your skills and experience. You will have: Significant experience in a similar role with at least 5 years in senior management within Engineering, Utilities or Commercial Training Management Training background desirable High level of commercial awareness with a focus on achieving results Experience of managing and coaching teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Driving Licence Other Requirements A strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and develop new approaches to the environment they operate in to grow the business Demonstrates a clear commitment to providing first class customer care / services Highly organised / deadline driven Ability to remain calm and be assertive during busy periods or when dealing withchallenging situations Discreet with the ability to maintain confidentiality
