The Opportunity: Join Avantor as a Senior Supplier Development Specialist. Location: UK, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain or Portugal (Remote/hybrid flexibility available).

Avantor is looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Supplier Development Specialist to join our team. In this high-impact role, you will analyze supplier performance, resolve issues, and identify improvement opportunities that directly enhance our distribution network's efficiency, reducing costs and improving the overall customer experience.
You will work closely with external suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Distribution Operations, Transportation, Strategic Sourcing, Portfolio, Customer Service, Regulatory, and Master Data teams.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or Business Finance.
- Experience: Proven experience in supplier development, operations, or supply chain roles.
- Certifications: APICS/CPIM certification is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of forecasting, inventory planning, and logistics operations.
- Demonstrated experience with project leadership and formal problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Avantor Business Systems).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint); working knowledge of SAP, QlikView, and/or Power BI is a plus.
- A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills to influence both internal and external partners.
How You Will Thrive and Make an Impact
- Provide monthly analysis of supplier performance and highlight opportunities for improvement to Supplier Operations Directors.
- Drive supplier-led initiatives to enhance service, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Review audit findings (I-Auditor) and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions that improve shipment quality.
- Use supplier scorecards to identify and address issues affecting Distribution Center (DC) performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers to optimize packaging and reduce damages, including supporting ISTA package testing and certification.
- Resolve daily supplier-related issues raised by DCs and track all actions and resolutions.
- Onboard new suppliers to Avantor's eCommerce systems via Standard EDI or Web Portal.
- Support new product launches with supply chain expertise in collaboration with Portfolio and Strategic Sourcing teams.
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve master data issues and improve procure-to-pay processes.
