Job Description

Business Development Manager

£55,000 + Car allowance

Location: Flexible, Monthly visit to Northern Head Office

Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be working with a world-renowned manufacturing business that supply products to the Electrical and Power industry to recruit a Business Development Manager.

The Business Development Manager will take responsibility for UK projects, building a UK project pipeline, engaging with stakeholders at the designer & contractor levels.

Key Responsibilities of the BDM:

  • Take responsibility for & demonstrate an understanding of the UK Power market. This includes, but is not limited to, UK energy hubs, renewables, energy storage and nuclear.
  • Establish and manage a project pipeline
  • Develop and implement business strategies to build strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, resulting in new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues, ensuring information is passed back & forth as projects progress
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s products, in order to support project specifications and where appropriate suggest bespoke solutions, liaising with the technical team regarding those requirements.
  • Maintain a record of customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Support the National Sales Manager in sales forecasting
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows and meetings
  • Provide input to the development of new products based on customer feedback and market trends.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to build & maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information
  • Self-starter, with a can-do attitude
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent within engineering, business or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales or related roles within the Power / Electrical sector
  • Strong market knowledge
  • Accurate IT skills, proficient using Excel.
  • Ability to travel domestically (approx. 3 days per week)
