Citrus Recruit are excited to be recruiting for a European transport planner/Manager who are a leading international transportation company. As a Transport Planner/Manager you will be responsible for keeping goods moving efficiently across Europe. You will be working in a fast-paced logistics environment where compliance, coordination, and communication are key. Working with a well-established, forward-thinking international haulage business that's growing its European operations. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring goods move across borders smoothly, cost-effectively, and in full legal compliance. This is a brilliant role for someone with a strong understanding of EU transport regulations and cross-border logistics.
Responsibilities & day to day duties
- Plan and optimise international transport routes across Europe to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Ensure adherence to EU transport laws including tachograph rules, the Working Time Directive, and customs legislation post-Brexit.
- Manage all necessary documentation including CMR notes, permits, and customs declarations.
- Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently, ensuring all have correct licenses and ADR qualifications where necessary.
- Monitor performance, fuel usage, and service schedules, coordinating with workshops as needed.
- Maintain high service levels to meet SLAs and support client retention.
- Book ferries and Eurotunnel crossings as required, ensuring seamless border movement.
- Quickly resolve delays, route issues, breakdowns, and customs hold-ups.
Skills & experience required
- Proven experience in European transport planning or fleet management within a haulage or logistics business.
- Strong knowledge of EU transport regulations, customs procedures, and post-Brexit requirements.
- Proficient with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and comfortable using tracking and reporting tools.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with drivers, clients, and cross-border agents.
