We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Business Studies to join a thriving secondary school in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to educate and inspire future entrepreneurs and business leaders in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
We are looking for a passionate and innovative Business Studies Teacher to deliver engaging lessons to students at KS4 and KS5. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The ideal teacher will have strong curriculum knowledge, be confident in delivering GCSE and A-Level content, and committed to promoting student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare and deliver Business Studies lessons aligned with the national curriculum and exam board specifications.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students reach their academic goals.
- Create an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and enterprise skills.
- Collaborate with the department to contribute to curriculum development and cross-curricular business initiatives.
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years teaching Business Studies at secondary level, ideally up to A-Level.
- Qualifications: A relevant degree in Business, Economics, or a related subject, plus UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Training: Experience in managing classroom behaviour and delivering differentiated instruction. Knowledge of safeguarding practices is essential.
- Skills: Strong communication, organisation, and subject knowledge, with the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
- DBS Check: All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to starting if not already registered with the update service. The cost of a DBS may be passed to the applicant.
