Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting for our local Dudley based client who are seeking a Production Process Engineer to work at their busy production plant. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Develop, optimise, and maintain manufacturing processes to improve product quality, reduce waste, and increase production efficiency.
  • Monitor key production parameters, analyse data, and troubleshoot process issues to minimise downtime and improve productivity.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Ensure that production processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO certifications.
  • Work closely with production teams, maintenance, and quality departments to identify areas for improvement and support implementation.
  • Provide training to operators on new processes and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction without compromising quality, through process optimisation, waste reduction, and equipment performance improvement.
  • Collect and analyse production data to generate reports for management, identifying trends, and providing recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all aspects of production.

Candidates welcome to apply for the role will have the following:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Production Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the steel or metal processing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of process engineering techniques, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with process control systems, automation, and plant equipment in a production setting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement changes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
