We are seeking a skilled and qualified compliance professional to lead our Compliance Team in the U.K to ensure that compliance standards are met across the U.K. businesses. The U.K. office has seven companies that provide services to clients, three of which are FCA regulated and two are HMRC registered for AML. The services provided include Fund Administration, Corporate Services, Depositary, Loan Agency and Loan Administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Head of Compliance, reporting to the Head of Compliance EMEA as well as the local Board of Directors your responsibilities will include:
- Serve as the Compliance Officer (SM16) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SM17) for Alter Domus U.K. entities.
- You will be the principal point of contact for AML/KYC across the U.K. businesses.
- You will be accountable for ensuring that all of the regulated Alter Domus U.K. companies are fully compliant with all relevant rules and regulations in U.K.
- You will conduct regular and comprehensive compliance-risk assessments and testing to identify and monitor the remediation of any risks and will ensure that all internal policies, procedures and guidelines are fit for purpose, making recommendations and amendments as appropriate.
- You will ensure all Compliance Monitoring Programs are implemented and completed in a timely fashion and that the monitoring programme meets regulatory requirements.
- You will provide regular reports to the Boards of the UK entities in respect of the outcome of the monitoring and the effectiveness of the compliance function.
- You will provide regular status reports to the Head of Compliance EMEA in respect of compliance monitoring and other compliance matters.
- You will be the key contact person for the FCA and HMRC.
- You are accountable for ensuring the appropriate filings with the regulator are completed accurately and on time.
- You will drive a culture of compliance and risk control across Alter Domus U.K. to mitigate regulatory, financial, operational and reputational risks.
- You will be involved with compliance related projects both for Alter Domus U.K. and Alter Domus Group.
- You will work closely with the business operations teams to ensure the integration of a strong compliance culture across the U.K. businesses.
- You will support the business operations teams with onboarding of new clients and services.

- You will also be responsible for driving change when necessary, delivering communications and directions to the team and supporting the development and engagement of employees at all levels.
YOUR PROFILE
- You possess a strong working knowledge of U.K. regulatory and AML framework for U.K. regulated businesses having previously held senior Compliance roles in the financial services industry.
- You have a strong understanding of the operation of investment funds.
- You have a strong understanding of debt capital markets.
- You have minimum 5 years of Financial Services experience in a Compliance environment.
- You have experience in the roles of CO and MLRO for a Regulated Business in U.K.
- You have demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong working relationship with the regulator.
- You hold the International Diploma in Compliance or AML or an equivalent qualification.
- You have experience in managing and developing a team of Compliance and AML professionals.
