Are you an environmental professional with a passion for regulatory compliance and permitting? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Consultant to join a growing technical team working at the intersection of energy, sustainability, and environmental regulation.

As an Environmental Compliance Consultant, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality consultancy services to a broad range of clients. The position requires a strong foundation in environmental permitting processes and applications—particularly for schemes such as the Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD), D1 Stack Calculations, and Part B permits. Your input will be essential in guiding clients through complex regulatory frameworks and ensuring successful accreditation and ongoing compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of permitting applications with Local Authorities and the Environment Agency.
  • Develop and present Environmental Management Systems tailored to client needs.
  • Support clients with applications and audits related to renewable energy schemes such as RHI, FiT, ROC, and Green Gas Support Scheme.
  • Interpret and convey the implications of energy and environmental policies in a client-friendly manner.
  • Carry out site visits and remote assessments to gather compliance data and prepare technical reports.
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects across energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental performance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to resolve permitting and compliance issues and provide ongoing technical support.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience in environmental permitting, including MCPD, D1, and Part B applications.
  • Familiarity with UK regulatory bodies and environmental compliance standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort working in both independent and collaborative settings.
