Economics Teacher We are looking to appoint an ambitious and hard working experienced Economics Teacher, who will work as part of a committed and friendly team. The school is located in Hillingdon borough, nearby Hayes and Harlington train station. We are looking for someone to start after February 2025 half term. About the school The school is a high-performing over-subscribed secondary school and sixth form serving the community of Hillingdon. Students are challenged and supported to be their best by expert and committed teachers. Top 9% of schools in England for Progress in Mathematics & English Top 100 Schools in England for Progress Overall Top 9% of Schools for Progress in English Baccalaureate Subjects 99% of Students in Further Education or Employment post 16 Within Economics department, students apply a range of economic theory to support their analysis of current economic problems and issues and appreciate the interrelationship between microeconomics and macroeconomics. Throughout the course opportunities are provided to debate current issues for example impact of cost of living crisis on consumers, business and the UK economy, inequality implications, why base rate changes; implications of an ageing UK population. In Year 13 students attend lectures on examination preparation and techniques run by chief examiners for the AQA examination board. Qualifications and Person Specification Teacher of Economics, preferably someone with an Economics degree or related degree. Excellent communication skills and ability to use ICT Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to inspire and motivate students Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (unqualified teachers with strong teaching experience in secondary schools in the UK can also be considered). Must have knowledge and teaching experience of the UK National Curriculum. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
