Your role as a Financial Regulations Project Director:

This is very much a client facing role and we are looking for the following skills and characteristics:

  • Acting as a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will champion innovation and economic growth initiatives in line with organisational and national priorities within the UK.
  • You will manage logistics across both internal and external communications in close collaboration with Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Affairs Team.
  • You will deliver output in the form of policy outcomes, revised standards and/or guidance or regulatory approaches.
  • You will build strong networks to leverage the impact of this new Project in the market. This would naturally include identifying opportunities to work with other UK regulators on cross-cutting issues.
  • Collaborate across departments and with senior stakeholders to pull in resources and expertise.
  • Represent the Hub as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Deliver impactful policy outputs, revised standards, and regulatory approaches.
  • Manage project governance, internal reporting, and assurance responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain high-level internal and external relationships to secure support and funding.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • You must be ACA/ACCA/CA Qualified with post qualification experience.
  • You will have a significant interest in the corporate reporting ecosystem and how new and upcoming trends affect accountancy practices.
  • An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, with the energy and drive to lead change and shape new initiatives.
  • A track record of working in a consultative / regulations advisory role.
  • We will also consider individuals with a background in external audit, who have since moved into a consulting or regulatory role.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and "sell" ideas at a strategic level.
  • The confidence and credibility to engage with knowledgeable stakeholders and secure project funding.
  • The ability to think on your feet, manage complex challenges, and operate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
