Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading a team of experts to ensure a robust and comprehensive strategy and implementation of Estate Management delivery.
- Work closely with the relevant Business Directors, other stakeholders & external parties including key Landowners to manage live, operational contracts proactively identifying any risks to portfolio to remove current and future risks.
- Manage and lead team responsible for making in excess of £50m per annum land payments.
- Define, manage, and review department processes and reporting.
- Tracking and managing department KPI’s with full alignment to Business objectives and project delivery goals.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead an Estates Management team and wider department of professionally qualified Surveyors and expert team.
- Proactive strategy and implementation of the Business land management strategy ensuring 100% compliance of lease obligations.
- Management of an Operational lease portfolio currently extending to over 200 contracts covering 40 windfarms and 3GW of capacity required to operate the entire Onshore & Offshore operations.
- Accountable for land budget excess of £50m per annum.
- Ensuring all land processes are defined, published, and audited to ensure wider dept compliance with Department operational delivery.
- Manage and mitigate impact of financial exposure across property portfolio ensuring all payments are appropriately made and in line with lease obligations.
- Mitigate financial and operational risk ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
- Developing and delivering land strategies which will help deliver Business objectives, meeting and adding to Business Operating plans.
- Advising and preventing the potential of multi-million pound claims across portfolio that may impact operational delivery and Company profitability and reputation.
- Work with Business Directors to define and agree the Estate Management needs of the Business having clear vision on the future Business plans and how Estate Management delivery will influence.
- Prepare, challenge, and manage budget submissions, mitigating any increased costs whilst ensuring full compliance with all legal and compliance across portfolio and land rights.
- Will seek income opportunities across portfolio to maximise assets for any divestment or short-term income.
- Work closely with Business Directors to ensure any changes to market strategy is understood and legal compliance with contracts is adhered to.
- Accountable for audit of lease portfolio providing Business CEO requisite comfort around lease compliance and mitigation of risk for future Business growth.
- Pro-actively manage a varied property portfolio, seeking opportunities to work collaboratively with wider SPR teams to develop strategies to deliver cost and environmental benefits to portfolio.
- Key role in ensuring representation of SPR Estates across any Business plan submission which will have an impact on land rights management and consequential financial requirements.

- Proactive approach to Real Estate Management with an ability to recognise opportunities for efficiencies and new approaches.
- Have an ability to keep abreast of wider market factors that will influence land delivery strategy including growing and developing a network of key contacts to aid such.
- Strong leadership credentials.
- Strong ability to mentor, coach and develop a team of Chartered Surveyors ensuring the correct allocation of resource to meet an ever-changing workload and demand.
- As Professionally qualified Chartered Surveyors the team must ensure compliance with regulations and standards pertaining to all aspects of the built environment.
