Role Overview

As a Category Pricing Manager Leader, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective pricing strategies across our business units. Your expertise will help us execute our pricing strategy, make informed price recommendations, and support key sales decisions. You will also coordinate pricing activities, develop and maintain pricing models and tools, and ensure consistent and competitive pricing to maximise profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Formulate and implement pricing strategies that align with our business objectives.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market and competitor analysis to identify pricing opportunities.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse pricing data to derive actionable insights and optimise performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of pricing analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple pricing projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with commercial, sales, marketing, and finance teams to ensure consistent pricing application.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present pricing strategies and performance reports to senior management.
  • Support: Assist the wider commercial function with additional business initiatives as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree-level education or significant experience.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a data-related field, with education including mathematics or statistics.

Experience:

  • Essential: Proven management experience, delivering large-scale projects, and stakeholder management.
  • Preferred: Experience in pricing/finance within a large FMCG, retail, or merchanting business.

Skills:

  • Essential: Strong data analytical skills, excellent communication, and solid SQL capabilities.
  • Preferred: Python and Java scripting, and experience with transactional data.

Knowledge:

  • Essential: Strong commercial acumen and expertise in pricing science/revenue management.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of LFLs and profitability.
