Position – Principal Architect

Travel - 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Arrangement – Contract – Inside IR35

NUVIA UK's Technical Services & Consulting department is fast growing with hybrid opportunities available up and down the country. We're striving to create a multidisciplinary team to offer our clients the best range of talent.

The candidate that we are looking to recruit should have a minimum of 10 years nuclear experience. The candidate should have experience of working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) roles reliant upon pragmatic design judgement and where engineering was a major part of the role.

Project Specific Requirements:

  • Be prepared to attend our Warrington office a minimum of 3 days per week and the client site on a fortnightly basis to confidently interact and engage with the multi-discipline construction team and their subcontractors as required.
  • Review and comment on structural design submissions during development including site modifications and document control.
  • Accept and reject design submissions, sign and submit Project managers approval to client document control.
  • Working knowledge of fire strategy arrangements. Detailed understanding and experience in production of fire rated solutions.
  • Attend meetings with Fire Consultants to review Conventional and Nuclear fire issues.
  • Interface with multi discipline design team on project issues. Provide support to JV in the completion of the Building Regulations.

Fire Strategy and Fire Stopping:

  • Attend meetings with Fire Consultants to review Conventional and Nuclear fire issues.
  • Review Fire Strategy Plans against works on site and vice versa.
  • Consider and assist in the preparation of solutions to fire related issues with the IV Architect as and when they arise.
  • Take part in weekly reviews of proposed changes to fire stopping details with IV Architect and specialist sub-contractor.
  • Keep updated regarding ongoing building interface boundary issues with Adjacent plant, with the site construction team.
  • Retain ownership of and oversee all aspects of the building's security boundary.

Roof & Cladding:

  • Oversee and support the JV design team with the completion on site of all remaining roof and cladding scope to ensure fully watertight building envelope. Roof gutter lining water ingress issue to be resolved.
  • Drainage connection to gutter and the associated overflow connections have been completed.

Chartered Architect (RIBA 3):

  • Expertise demonstrable in major projects areas relevant to the Architectural discipline with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills.
  • Full UK driving license or equivalent that permits driving in the UK.
  • Able to meet the requirements for security clearance in the UK.
