Teaching Assistants are a vital part of a pupil’s ability to make the best of school and our pupil is no different. Job details Role: SEN Teaching Assistant Pay: £60 per half day Location: Reading Contract: Part-time Working hours: 12:45 until the end of the school day. Monday – Friday About the role We are looking for a skilled and patient Teaching Assistant to support our ASEND Tutor in afternoon sessions with a 7-year-old boy with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in his school. He has Speech and Language difficulties and struggles with flexibility of thought, often engaging in restricted, repetitive play. Our student is a lovely, happy, and playful child with a great sense of humour. He enjoys role-playing, buses, cars, superheroes, dinosaurs, animals, zoo webcams, and playing on his tablet. He sometimes becomes anxious and upset and needs a calm, skilled adult to help him refocus, regulate, and feel supported.
