The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a client operating across the Transportation sector, collaborating closely with key stakeholders, such as Local Authorities, Train Operating Companies, Network Rail, TfN, and the DfT, to drive positive outcomes.

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

Location: Manchester (Hybrid working arrangement: 3 days in the office/ 2 days WFH)

Role Description: The Resolute Group is proud to be partnering with a Transport governing body who are looking to secure a Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Communications. This senior leadership role will be pivotal in shaping and delivering the organisation's communications, public affairs, and stakeholder strategies across a complex landscape.

Operating at the heart of major infrastructure programmes, the successful professional will lead all aspects of internal and external communications, media relations, political engagement, and strategic events. Supporting the organisation as a key contact for a wide range of high-profile stakeholders, from central government and local authorities to private sector partners and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Leading the development and execution of integrated communications and stakeholder engagement strategies, aligned with organisational objectives and public policy priorities.
  • Acting as the principal advisor to the senior leadership team on all communications and stakeholder matters, including media relations, internal messaging, political engagement, and crisis communications.
  • Managing and coordinating high-impact communications campaigns, press releases, events, and digital engagement initiatives.
  • Overseeing the internal communications strategy to ensure alignment and engagement across directorates such as Operations, Technical, Commercial, Finance, and Project Delivery.

Required Experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in relevant field.
  • Demonstrable track record in corporate affairs, public relations, and political engagement that supports the delivery of policy and programme outcomes.
  • The ideal professional would need prior client-side experience, ideally within the public sector - examples include Network Rail, Transport for the North (TfN), the Department for Transport (DfT), Transport for London (TfL), Train Operating Companies, the NHS, Local Authorities, or the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
