We’re recruiting a talented and highly organised Business Manager to support their team during a 12-month maternity cover. This vital role offers the chance to work at the heart of a growing organisation that’s passionate about social impact and sustainable change.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead internal finance processes including payroll, associate invoicing, reconciliations, VAT returns, and pension contributions using platforms such as Xero and Nook.
- Manage external financial support tasks including client onboarding, invoicing schedules, contracts, and credit control.
- Collaborate with Project Coordinators and Client Directors to oversee project timelines, resourcing, and budget alignment.
- Contribute to business development activities, supporting sales pathways, proposal development, marketing oversight, and tendering systems.
- Oversee daily operations such as managing business systems, IT coordination, company correspondence, and governance processes.
- Facilitate onboarding and team engagement initiatives and support strategic development projects like the Skills Matrix.
- Attend board and strategy meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and proactive governance support.
Person Specification
- Solid experience in financial and operational business management, ideally in a consultancy, social enterprise, or SME setting.
- Proficiency with tools such as Xero, SharePoint, Survey Monkey, and Microsoft Office.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, inclusive approach.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive and values-driven attitude.
- Able to work independently, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to the organisation’s mission and growth.

What’s On Offer
This 12-month maternity cover offers a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 (pro rata) depending on experience. The role is home-based with occasional travel and flexibility in hours (0.6 to 1.0 FTE considered). Benefits include 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata), a stakeholder pension scheme, and a smartphone provided after a 3-month probation. You will be joining a collaborative, innovative, and impact-focused team committed to making a difference.
