The Commercial Data Analyst will play a critical role in delivering data-driven insights that drive commercial decision making across the business. This position involves analysing key datasets, identifying business trends, forecasting performance, and providing actionable recommendations, in order to optimise revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities/Results areas:
- Develop and Analyse Key commercial performance metrics, across sales, product inventory, and cost of sales, enabling the understanding of changes in key performance indicators over time, and providing an improved view of store and brand profitability and margins.
- Develop and maintain monthly dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and provide real-time visibility to stakeholders.
- Initiate, manage and deliver analytical projects and reporting, within the framework of supporting commercial business decision making based upon KPIs.
- Deliver ad hoc and regular data-driven insights to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
- Manage and conduct regular reporting and post-season analysis, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial and Finance teams to understand evolving business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Develop and ensure data quality, accuracy and consistency across all reporting outputs.
- Work closely with the Finance Director in order to determine potential data analytics improvement options, including the potential for new ERP system development.
- Responsible for researching and developing the possibilities for the use of Generative AI tools, in order to provide analytics on large datasets in a more efficient and user-friendly manner.
- Be able to present key findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications - Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Mathematics, Business, or Computer Science.
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or commercial analyst role.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Python, SQL), and experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Solid understanding of business and commercial concepts, including revenue analysis and margin optimisation.
- Ability to extract insights from large, imperfect datasets and communicate them effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communicator, comfortable working with stakeholders cross-functionally and at all levels of the business.
- Inquisitive by nature, and excited by a challenge, with an interest in driving improvements.
Skills and Qualifications - Desirable:
- Experience of SAP Crystal reporting.
- Experience with ERP or Stock Management systems.
- Background in a commercial or B2B/B2C environment.
- A working knowledge of the current Generative AI tools with strong data analytics potential.
