A leading Defence client of ours is currently in the market for a contract Senior Project Manager to join the team. You'll take the lead in managing a portfolio of high-profile defence projects, delivering them on time, to cost and quality. Working closely with campaign teams, you'll balance resources and risk, aligning delivery with strategic business priorities and customer expectations.

  • Drive successful delivery of contracts from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Act as the key interface for MOD customers, subcontractors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Own risks and issues across bids and live projects, escalating effectively when needed.
  • Lead bid activity with confidence, ensuring robust planning and forecasting.
  • Deliver accurate reports against KPIs and continuously improve delivery capabilities.
  • Build high-performing project teams and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.

We're after someone who can blend strategic vision with delivery excellence, who can gain senior stakeholder buy-in and make things happen.

Essential:
  • Experience delivering framework or product-based projects for the UK Ministry of Defence.
  • Strong understanding of Portfolio Management/ Project management in a complex, multi-team environment.
  • Confident communicator with a natural ability to influence and build trust across all levels.
  • Formal Project Management qualifications (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2, PMI).
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/SAFe delivery, and working knowledge of Scrum.
Desirable:
  • Background in product development, research, or consultancy.
  • Skilled in balancing revenue and risk to meet financial targets.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and a desire to grow professionally.
