JRRL are looking for a Newly Qualified Solicitor (NQ) or an experienced paralegal (minimum 12 months’ experience in family/immigration) for a well-established law firm. This role is ideal for a NQ solicitor or experienced paralegal with a demonstrable interest or experience in both family and immigration law to join our client’s team which offers compassionate support and expert guidance through any family law matters.

Duties for the NQ Solicitor:

  • Manage a caseload of family and/or immigration matters with appropriate supervision.
  • Advise clients on a range of legal issues including divorce, child arrangements, domestic abuse, visas, asylum, and nationality applications.
  • Draft legal documents, applications, witness statements, and court bundles.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with regulatory and legal aid requirements.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up to date with developments in family and immigration law.
  • Participate in client development and networking initiatives.
  • Support senior solicitors and partners as required.

Person Specification for the NQ Solicitor:

  • Qualified solicitor (NQ) in England & Wales (or due to qualify within the next 3 months) or paralegal with minimum of 12 months' experience in family/immigration.
  • Demonstrable interest or experience in family and/or immigration law.
  • Strong client care skills and emotional resilience when dealing with sensitive cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.

This is a full-time permanent job. The lower end of the salary scale will be offered for someone with less experience and the maximum salary would be for someone who would need less training.
