A mid-sized, privately held supply chain services company is looking to hire a Director to lead the Trade Compliance function throughout the EMEA region. This role will manage both client and vendor relationships, spearhead trade compliance within EMEA, and work as part of the global trade compliance team to establish best practices throughout the organization.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all global trade functions across the EMEA region including import, export, and compliance for live orders
  • Work directly with clients to evaluate their compliance needs, strategize compliance processes, and explain policy requirements
  • Act as subject matter expert on global trade
  • Serve as liaison for regulatory inquiries and perform internal compliance audits
  • Evaluate existing processes and implement best practices where needed
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure timely adoption of relevant regulations
  • Advise leadership on regulatory risks and suggestions on how to mitigate
  • Conduct research as needed on global trade regulations
  • Coordinate with business units to ensure compliance with local, regional and global trade compliance requirements
  • Lead and manage global trade compliance team

The Director of Global Trade Compliance should possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of import/export compliance experience
  • Proficiency in trade compliance customs requirements; some exposure to product compliance also desired
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present to senior leadership
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 15-20%
