SEN Teaching assistant jobs often involve working on a one to one or small group basis supporting the pupils with their learning both in the full class environment and out of class. The work will be planned by the class teacher and your role will be to guide and support your learner in achieving the tasks set. You will need a kind and caring personality with patience and the ability to engage and keep the pupil on task throughout the day. This may also involve having breakout sessions with them tailored to their interests or ensuring they get regular breaks outside but getting to know the child or children you are working with is very important.In return you’ll build wonderful relationships with the pupils and thrive on seeing them achieve new things, however big or small! Occasionally the opportunity to pick up extra hours supporting in before and after school clubs. School holidays off work so fits well with family commitments.
