Electronics and Soldering Operative Currently based in BD14, the company is relocating to a new site in BD3 late 2025. * £14.00 per hour for first 12 weeks. (£27300) * £16.00 per hour after 12 weeks completed (£31200) Monday to Friday, 7:45 am – 3:45 pm (37.5 paid hours after breaks) Benefits after 12 weeks probationary period 28 days holidays increase to 35 days holiday. SUMMARY OF ROLE Our client is looking for an Electronics Assembler to assemble, test, and repair electronic assemblies and/or PCBs, either partially or completely. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. An IPC 610 soldering qualification or equivalent is essential. ESSENTIAL TO APPLY * IPC 610 soldering qualification or equivalent is essential. * Strong computer literacy, essential for operating Pick & Place equipment. * Previous experience or training in through-hole soldering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Excellent hand-eye coordination, with the ability to work with small parts and assemblies. * Proficiency in identifying electronic components. * Fluency in spoken and written English. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure instructions. * Experience in soldering both surface-mount and through-hole components. * Prior experience with SMT and Pick & Place machines is advantageous. Key Duties and Responsibilities: * Communicate effectively and courteously in a professional manner. * Follow detailed written or verbal instructions accurately. * Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, ensuring work is carried out neatly. * Manually assemble electronic components by following written instructions, drawings, and/or schematics. * Create soldered connections in line with IPC 610 standards or equivalent quality requirements. * Use small hand tools to assist in assembly tasks, including through-hole soldering. * Identify and solve minor problems, and escalate larger issues to a supervisor when required. * Perform visual quality inspections on PCBs and make necessary corrections. * Maintain accurate counts of components, coordinate stock levels, and assist with reordering when needed. * Carry out other duties as assigned. * Identify components and read process documentation such as Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assembly drawings. Future Requirements * Willingness to train on SMT machinery, requiring strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination. * Prepared to train in testing electronic assemblies.
