We are currently recruiting for an Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a market leading manufacturing business based in Preston This is a permanent role that has been created due to continued expansion and business growth. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within an FMCG / Industrial maintenance based role within a manufacturing environment. Experience working Hydraulics/ Pneumatics / Motors/ pumps/ Conveyors is a must. Experience with Electrical Maintenance is also advantageous including PLC Fault Finding. This is a shift based role working 4 on 4 off (2 Days 6AM – 6PM + 2 Nights 6PM – 6AM) Candidates must be time served with a demonstrable background in Mechanical Maintenance. Role Description * To ensure all equipment is in a safe & serviceable condition to maintain & enhance performance of all machinery * Reduce engineering downtime, respond rapidly to machine failures & breakdowns * Undertake projects and assist with all on-site installations * To always keep open and clear lines of communication with management and fellow colleagues * To undertake, develop & improve planned maintenance schedules * To prioritise work within the engineering department & deploy resources accordingly * To identify training needs or ‘weak spots’ within the department * To ensure all equipment is in a safe & serviceable condition to maintain & enhance performance of all machinery within the corrugating / conversion plant Skills and Qualifications * Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance role within a Fast paced manufacturing environment * Candidates must be Time Served with a demonstrable background in Mechanical Maintenance * Familiar with Simens PLC’s * Knowledge of Mechanical systems including Conveyors/ Hydraulics/ Pneumatics/ Motors/ Pumps * Strong communication skills.
