About the Practice & Team: This independent practice, Animal Medical Centre, has been a cornerstone of its community, offering exceptional veterinary care to a loyal client base. The team is known for their dedication to compassionate, customized care, ensuring pets and their families receive the best possible service. The practice boasts modern facilities, including: Digital CR dental radiography A separate dental suite Full in-house lab equipment (IDEXX) Ultrasound, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy Multi-parameter monitoring and tonometry A fully equipped theatre suite Four consulting rooms (two for cats and two for dogs) Separate entrances, receptions, and wards for cats and dogs A quiet room dedicated to end-of-life discussions and care. The team values effective communication, mutual respect, and a collaborative approach to veterinary care. They aim to build trusting bonds with clients while supporting each other’s strengths. About the Role: The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will play a pivotal role in overseeing clinical operations, supporting colleagues, and delivering excellent care. This position involves: 4-day work weeks, with 1:3 Saturdays (day off in lieu). No out-of-hours duties. 20–30-minute consultation times to allow thorough client education. Scheduled time for surgeries, procedures, and client follow-ups. Morning and afternoon 30-minute ward rounds to ensure continuity of care. The successful candidate will be supported by specialists in cardiology, imaging, and complex surgeries. Benefits: Competitive salary of £70,000–£80,000 per annum, based on experience. Generous CPD allowance. Supportive and collaborative work environment. No OOH and a balanced rota to support work-life balance. Applicant Requirements: MRCVS Up to date CPD At least 5 years of experience in UK small animal practice. Confidence in routine surgery, medicine, and emergency work. A passion for dentistry (preferred). Strong leadership skills to support and inspire the clinical team.
