HR Manager £40,000 – £45,000 per annum plus benefits 4-day week Pontypool Intapeople are working exclusively with a renowned manufacturing business based in Pontypool who are seeking an experienced HR Manager. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, your role will be to lead and develop the HR function in line with Group strategy. You will have previous experience working within the Manufacturing or Engineering Industry where you have ensured company policies and objectives are adhered to. You will have an up to date and solid understanding of employment law advising and supporting management in accordance with all legislative requirements. You will be a highly motivated and proactive individual with a strong work ethic. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to engage and build strong relationships from the shopfloor up. Duties and responsibilities Monitoring and managing employee attendance and performance Undertaking disciplinary investigations and hearings Dealing with grievances & mediating between employees Managing the end-to-end recruitment cycle Training and developing of employees Liaising with colleges/universities in relation to apprentices Advising managers and employees on current employment law and the company’s employment policies and procedures Negotiating contracts and working conditions with employees Managing the Company workwear contract Running the Company’s time & attendance system and producing reports Skills, qualifications and experience required Previous experience in a similar HR role. Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft Office packages is essential. Approachable, ‘hands on’ and comfortable in spending time on the shop floor. A calm and assertive approach is vital with the ability to work under pressure and without direct supervision
