Job Title: Experienced HGV Technician Recruitment Agency: Vibe Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of their client. Role Overview: Vibe Recruitment is seeking an Experienced HGV Technician to join their client’s team, responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standards. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standards. The role involves rotating early and late shifts to accommodate operational needs. Shift Pattern: Shifts: Early and Late Shifts (specific shift patterns to be discussed during the interview process Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) Key Responsibilities: Routine Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standards. Fault Diagnosis & Rectification: Diagnose and resolve all types of mechanical, electrical, and technical faults. Roadside Assistance: Attend disabled vehicles either on the roadside or at customer premises to perform repairs. Vehicle Handling: Ensure that all vehicles are handled carefully, following all safety precautions while on the premises. Parts Liaison: Work closely with the parts department to source and acquire necessary parts for repairs. Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices at all times. Record Keeping: Ensure timely and accurate clocking of hours, and completion of job cards, service sheets, and vehicle maintenance records. Workshop Cleanliness: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness within the workshop environment. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with product knowledge and attend relevant training courses to maintain current technical expertise. Business Support: Follow company routines for warranty, contract, and retail business. Work directly with foremen and workshop controllers to ensure smooth operations. Team Collaboration: Provide support to the parts and administration teams as needed. Required Skills & Experience: Ability to work within given guidelines and meet strict deadlines. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to actively seek solutions. Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate with colleagues. Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills. Flexibility to undertake a wide variety of tasks as required. Strong awareness and understanding of Health & Safety regulations in the workplace. Ideal Qualifications & Experience: Technical Qualifications: City & Guilds or NVQ-qualified technician, or proven experience in repairing and maintaining vehicles. Scania Experience: Previous experience with Scania vehicles is desirable, but not essential. A current driving license is required. LGV/HGV License: An LGV/HGV license is ideal, but not essential. Trailer Running Gear Experience: Previous experience with trailer running gear would be beneficial. SAF/BPW Experience: Experience with SAF or BPW components is an advantage.
